I have been using IT Glue for about a year and they seem similar to an aspect, but clearly, I chose IT Portal's IT documentation system.
The IT Portal documentation tool has been an integral platform for our office. It has allowed this office to track all of our environmental changes over the past several years, which has been invaluable for IT documentation management.
DSM began using the IT Portal platform for our project-based Systems Integration group in 2009. The power and flexibility of the documentation solution have allowed DSM to manage over 100 customers' infrastructure — whether managed from one of our four data centers or on the customer's premises. Now our business is evolving into an MSP model, and we are finding new ways to leverage IT Portal for our Help Desk Support group and engineering staff.
IT Portal has transformed the way we share technical information between engineers. The platform integrates with our PSA and dashboard to bring in records for all of the devices we manage, so information can be held alongside the device to which it relates. It also introduces features such as password history, revision control, access logs, and so much more. I would have no hesitation in recommending this IT documentation system to anyone needing to store IT system documentation and technical data.
The on-premise edition's layout makes sense, the ConnectWise PSA integration is super helpful, and customization is straightforward. The recent upgrades — Microsoft auth and TOTP — are great additions. Implementation was a 5, and ongoing support is also a 5.
What I like most about IT Portal? Brandability, the top search bar, the Chrome plug-in, the feature set vs. IT Glue, the price point, and a simple layout that just makes sense. We've even been able to give another IT company access for full transparency and cloud collaboration on a big client.

The encryption feature is a real differentiator — IT Glue didn't have encryption. Would rather have safety and security than extra features. Overall happy.
It's affordable and seems to do what we need it to do without having to deal with ITGlue or another larger provider. The pricing is a great value for a small MSP like us that is not really mature enough to need a large solution.
We've been using IT Portal for about 3 years now and love it. Support is always responsive when we need it but we have not needed it often. The most recent support call was when I attempted to set up IP-restricted access — support arranged a remote session, troubleshot, then worked on it until it was fixed. It integrates with several RMMs and PSAs. For a small company it receives a fair amount of development.
